Conduct Disorder

Conduct Disorder

Dear All,

Last month we highlighted the issue of Conduct Disorder and the fact that this term was not widely being used within the UK.

Instead many of the features associated with individuals were absorbed into the ever increasing unwieldy SEBD term which makes distinction between more premeditated and anti-social behaviour and non premeditated risk taking and more emotional behaviours.

Therefore it is both welcome and timely that in March 2013 both NICE (the National Association for Clinical Excellence) and SCIE (the Social Care Institute for Excellence) have identified Conduct Disorder as an important issue to highlight in its own case.

It is to be hoped that by breaking up the SEBD term into more specific learning behavioural areas and distinguishing Conduct Disorder from ADHD and ODD that more specific management systems and strategies can be developed for children and young people.https://fintanoregan.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/NICE-More-help-for-parents.pdf
